How it all started
Nicki Tyler-Westwood is our dentist. Askham Dental Centre was established in 2000, when Nicki opened our private surgery. 'Askham' was the selected name for the practice in memory of her late grandfather. With 15 years experience since qualifying at Birmingham dental school, Nicki is dedicated to providing high quality dental care. Nicki has a particular flare for cosmetic dentistry and with recent completion in 2008 of an advanced restoration course is up to date with the latest techniques.
Nicki is also working towards specialising in periodontal treatment, after completing an advanced periodontal course in 2008 along with our hygienist Sue. She has had many successful cases of reversing poor gum conditions and improving the stability of mobile teeth.
Our Services at Askham
We would like to welcome new patients. You may contact the practice by telephone, email or if you're in the area feel free to pop in and one of our team will gladly assist you and answer any questions you may have.
On your first visit we will carry out an extensive examination, including examination of your teeth, gums, jaw joints, the general condition of your soft tissues in your mouth, and we may take some x-rays to check for any problems not always visible in the mouth.
Treatment plans will be discussed with you, giving you options of treatment available along with a written estimation of cost. An appointment will be arranged as long you are happy and ready to proceed.
If a more complex treatment plan is required then a further appointment may be necessary with Marie, our dental nurse to discuss a more varied and detailed treatment plan available to you.
